Potter's Wheel a piece of equipment that turns around, onto which wet clay is placed so that it can be shaped by hand into a pot. Throwing the process from the time the clay touches the potter's wheel to the time the wheel is stopped; or more generally, entire activity of shaping the clay on the potter's wheel. Trimming (or Turning) refining the outer base, and sometimes the rim, of a wheel-thrown vessel so that the outer shape mimics the inner shape of the form and the walls are uniform in thickness. |
